The Parliament Award

The wonderful Bishop Eddie Tatro kindly nominated me for this award.

As he himself has put it in his blog

An Award from The Bishop’s Study!

The Parliament Award

The Parliment Award

Everyone knows that I love owls and wolves.  We know that a group of wolves is called a pack, but did you know that a group of owls is called a Parliament?  Owls have for centuries been symbols of wisdom and love, and wolves are a symbol of strength, loyalty and family.

I’ve created this award for those people who are in my Parliament & Pack.  You mean so very much to me, and you all show what I stand for: Love.  Hate is not part of your vocabulary.

Love to my Parliment & Wolf Pack

The Rules for this award are as followed:

  1. Firstly, display the Award on your site (see Award page or sidebar!) You earned it and you deserve it!
  2. List a few things that make you a loyal member.
  3. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  4. Nominate at least five (5) well deserving bloggers whose loyalty and love you value and consider part of your Parliament and Pack; for the Award and let them know the wonderful news by sending them a message on their site.

So first and foremost let me thank the good Bishop for this honor, I appreciate it very much

Secondly here are my things that make mea loyal member.

1: I am Dutch, Loyalty is ingrained in our DNA

2: I consider everyone a friend until proven otherwise, you never abandon your friends

3: I am a wolfpack member, wolves are loyal, honest, kind, friendly and social and so are we

4: My alter ego is a werewolf, he has been for many years how about that for loyalty

Of course there is the need to nominate 5 (at least) Other people. I know already who I will nominate but I will not make an award shower, I have nominated a lot of people for a lot of awards the past few days.

A new award is here: the Cloak of Dawn award

cloack of dawn award

The Cloak of Dawn award

The idea behind this award: We all know bloggers that write about the issues in this world be it animal abuse, child abuse, equality, their family, love, friendship, the love of whatever deity they worship and so on. We also know many blogger that besides blogging has to take care of a loved one because they are sick, have a disability or are otherwise not able to do everything by themselves. For these bloggers I created this award. The award is named in the spirit of a voluntary care giver and mother that does not blog herself and therefore can not receive the award herself (see what I did there Shaun ? )

Why a cloak? well in Dutch we call a voluntary caregiver (as described above) a “mantel zorger” which translates literal to “cloak carer” hence the cloak and the Rod of Aesculapius

This award has some special rules due to its intend. Whereas most awards are shared after you have gotten it yourself, this award will be free to hand out at each and everyone’s own discretion BUT you must make sure that the intend of the award is upheld.

DA Rules

1: Display the award on your blog, either on a special awards page or in your side bar

2: If you have a nominee yourself tell them of their nomination

3: make clear in your nomination blog why you have nominated the person. is it for his/her blogging or for his/her voluntary care that they give to their loved one / friend / kid / grandparents / animals etc etc

4; there is no limit on how many people you can nominate as long as the spirit of the award remains intact.

5: this can’t be declined 😉

My first nominee is often a bit overlooked. I don’t know if he ever received an award but that might be due to the fact he does not have his own blog but has a page on the blog of his loved one. He is a poet, artist and for what I have been reading a voluntary caregiver to a very dear friend of mine. I am talking about Danny from Danny’s Lair whom is sharing his webspot with Just Patty from http://petitemagique.wordpress.com/ . Danny, I don’t know you besides what I have seen on Patty’s blog but reading her blogs I know you are a true “mantelzorger” and therefore you fully deserve this award. YOU are the BOMB and I love you for it (in a manly way of course :D) I hope you will display it with pride and I hope that it will help you to get some more “fame” on WordPress.

My second nomination goes to DrRex from It is what it is. For those few people that come to my blog and do NOT know this sweet lady I suggest you visit her blog asap. DrRex ain’t calling herself Doctor for fun, She has devoted her complete professional career to the provision of medical care to those in need which includes work with/for veterans. She is also a blogger that is always spreading love, inspiration and knowledge and I can not think of a better person to present this award too. Sweet sweet Horty, this one is for you.

THIS AWARD HAS BEEN CREATED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE EFFORTS AND MULTIPLE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT A LAD FROM SCOTLAND HAS SHOWN SINCE HE STARTED BLOGGING IN THE WORDPRESS PLATFORM.

HIS NAME IS SHAUN GIBSON.

You can find this information @ http://shaunynews.wordpress.com/about/

In his own words

“Life is this easy, we make it hard x … My name is Shaun. I have a partner and 4 kids. I live in West Midlothian in Scotland, I am in my late 30′s.

I look at the world and challenge everything we are told. Some live in a ground-hog day existence, I couldn’t live like this.  I am a thinker, I love to get my mind round a subject and try and share it with you, the reader, the best I can. The blog could be about myself, or the world around us, or any other subject, I need to share.

I am disabled with Chronic Pain Syndrome, it gets in the way of my life, but not my mind, or my heart. It won’t kill me, but it is a nuisance to say the least. I live for my family, I also challenge myself every day to push myself to be a better person, to think of others, to help others, and more important, smile and be blessed for all I have.

I am not religious, but I respect anyone’s right to think and believe what they may. Freedom of expression and thoughts is important, as is the ability to accept that other people have feelings and opinions. We must allow others opinions to speak to us, otherwise we turn to hate and intolerance.

Love the people in your life, be happy, stay strong and always fight to better yourself. Some hide away and shy from the world, and live alone and die alone. We all are guilty, as if we reach out, others reach back. I reach out with every blog I do, and people do reach back.

Border1I am always happy with an award. It shows respect, appreciation and a level of interest for what you write. So I thank Joe for handing me this award, especially since this one was created for the person that triggered me to go blogging and has become a valued friend and wolfpack member.

Most awards have rules but this award has just two rules

Award it whenever you feel like it to whoever you like for whatever reason 😀

you can’t decline it

I am proud and humbled for receiving yet another award for something I do for such a short period of time. I could not have done this without all of you my readers and followers and thus I thank you as well.

One of the driving motivations to continue blogging is our WordPress Wolfpack. Without my brothers and sisters I might have given up again after a short while so Shaun , Horty, Ed, Patty, Jade and Brian here is a little ode to you guys. I love you all and thank you for allowing me into this wonderful pack

And Joe, thank you for this great award

Nominated in appreciation and as encouragement to Linda from http://lindafrindt.wordpress.com/
